Lugoff-Elgin High School (L-EHS) will host its annual Showcase of Majors from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15. Teachers from L-EHS and ATEC will be available to aid students and parents in the course selection process.

The event’s major purpose is for students to refine their Individualized Graduation Plan (IGP), and students will have the opportunity to investigate a variety of course options. The Showcase of Majors is an important part of the registration process because the IPG outlines a course of study that will enable the student to reach his/her educational and career goals.

Guidance counselors will use these plans to complete schedules for next year.

During the school year, the school has implemented the adviser/advisee program, and students have been discussing the registration process with their advisers. At the Showcase of Majors, students should first visit their adviser for specific information on which teachers to see. Representatives from Central Carolina Technical College, other colleges, business and industry, and governmental agencies will be on hand to acquaint students with the wide variety of available educational and career opportunities.
