The 22nd annual KershawHealth Foundation Vern Kechem Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, April 9 at the Camden Country Club. Cost for the tournament is $110 per person, or $440 per team, including mulligans. The format is Captain’s Choice. There will be prizes for closest-to-the-pin and longest drives. For sponsor information, or to register for the tournament, contact Mary Hill at the KershawHealth Foundation at 272-0552, extension 1 or register online at kershawhealthfoundationgolf.com.

For the fourth year, the tournament will fund free prostate cancer screenings for men. Kershaw County is one of eleven counties in South Carolina with a death rate from prostate cancer higher than the national average. Early detection is essential and KershawHealth has set a goal of screening 250 men in 2011.

Fulfilling KershawHealth’s commitment to provide the highest level and widest scope of healthcare services requires tremendous financial resources. The KershawHealth Foundation enables members of the community to provide philanthropic support for KershawHealth’s mission. The golf tournament is named in memory of Vern Ketchem, the Foundation’s first executive director.
